Denise Weimer
“Why I write...
I was born in Atlanta but grew up in the country, an only child of parents who loved history. We traveled all over the Southeast, and the historic towns and buildings we visited made me wonder what type of people once lived there and what their lives were like. I started writing stories in spiral-bound notebooks and reading them to my mom. She encouraged me to keep writing.
After receiving a journalism degree with a minor in history from Asbury University, I worked in public relations and did magazine writing before my first novels were published. A number of other works followed as I also received training as an editor. I have other authors to thank, as well as my agent and previous editors, for most of the open doors in my writing journey. I’m so thankful to be able to use the gifts God has given me to craft engaging fiction that points to Him!”
North Georgia native Denise Weimer has authored a dozen traditionally published novels and a number of novellas—historical and contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and time slip. Having served three years as managing editor for Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas’ two historical imprints, as well as a freelance editor, she’s helped other authors reach their publishing dreams. A mother of two daughters, Denise always pauses for coffee, chocolate, and old houses.
